Debbie Appleby & Appleby Pottery Arts is a continued creation of Pottery & Stained Glass. Recently, we have embraced Stained Glass creations and divide our time between these two fabulous artforms. Join us on our journey as new works continue to hatch from our studio.
I am a retired teacher and work with the Colleton County Arts Council in Walterboro, South Carolinaas the Artist in Residence and Instructor. Reaching out to schools, Veteran's Home and our Home School students, I am excited to share my love of clay and the arts with students of all ages.
Walterboro, South Carolina area is my home and a beautiful town it is. I have worked with clay for over 30 years and loved it the first time I felt it in my hands. While primarily self-taught, I have taken college classes in ceramics in college and workshops through Campbell Folk School in the mountains of Brasstown, North Carolina. While living in the mountains of North Carolina for four years, I learned the history and art of face jugs and have fallen in love with this incredible artform. It is through my work that I share my love of history and clay with you!
